What’s Irving Serving?

 Hey, Superstar

So you’ve got your first test shoot lined up, your look is catching eyes, and you’re ready to carve your place in the industry. First of all-*YES, you better!* Second of all: it’s time we had a little heart-to-heart about your online presence and personal brand.

Whether you’re walking for couture or building a niche in alt-editorial, your digital presence matters as much as your physical one. No, this isn’t just for influencers. It’s for models of all shapes, sizes, styles, and stories.

Let’s talk about how you can build a brand that reflects your truth-and gets you booked.

Your Social Media Is A Portfolio

Let’s be real: castings happen on screens now as much as in studios. Agents and clients will look you up before they ever reach out. If your grid is giving “lost in the algorithm,” we need to fix that.

Think of your feed as your storefront.

That doesn’t mean you have to be perfect or polished 24/7. Authenticity is the real flex. But it does mean you should be intentional. Showcase your face, your work, your energy-whatever makes you uniquely *you*.

Your Identity Is Your Superpower

This industry doesn’t belong to one type of body, gender, or background anymore-and thank goodness for that. Whether you’re trans, nonbinary, disabled, neurodivergent, plus-size, or breaking molds in any other way-**you deserve space, and your story matters**.

Personal branding is about letting the world see YOU before anyone else tries to define you.

Tip: Create a visual moodboard (hello, Pinterest!) that reflects the energy you want to bring to the industry. Let that guide your content, your captions, and your collaborations.

Confidence Isn’t Arrogance-It’s Strategy

You don’t have to shrink yourself online. Own your look, your growth, your goals. Confidence doesn’t mean pretending you have it all figured out-it means showing up anyway.

Post that behind-the-scenes video. Share the no-makeup selfies. Talk about what inspires you. Let people fall in love with the full picture, not just the polished poses.

 Consistency Builds Trust

The algorithm loves consistency, and so do clients. Showing up regularly (even once or twice a week!) signals that you’re serious, focused, and engaged.

Include:

* New photos from shoots professional or not as long as they read editorial

* Skincare, fitness, or prep routines

* Collaborations or moodboard inspo

* Shoutouts to creatives you’ve worked with

* Your thoughts on fashion, beauty, or culture

Tag your team, give credit where it’s due, and keep your bio fresh-add your agency info, pronouns if you want, and a contact email or booking link.

Comparison Is the Thief of Joy

Let me say this louder: you do not need to look like anyone else to be valuable. You don’t need 10k followers, a six-pack, or an editorial with Vogue to start taking yourself seriously. Everyone starts somewhere.

This is your journey. Walk it with pride.

You’re More Than a Pretty Face

You’re a whole brand. A vibe. A message. And your online presence? It’s not just for clout—it’s your calling card. Use it to connect, inspire, and show the world exactly what you bring to the table.

So wherever you are on your journey-new, established, or rebranding-know this:

A good walk, jawline, turns heads, but a good brand turns careers.” – Me, your favorite (and inclusive) mentor.  Post with purpose, shine with pride, and remember: your identity is your power, not your limitation
