What’s Irving Serving?
Hey there, you beautiful runway rookies and beachside bombshells!
Whether you’re flexing your way into the modeling world as a handsome heartthrob or a fierce femme fatale, your favorite mentor is here to spill the (sea) tea on how to make that beach work for you.
Modeling isn’t just about looking good. It’s about owning the space—especially when that space is golden sand, crashing waves, and sunlight that was basically invented to make you glow.
So let’s dive in, shall we?
1. Timing is EVERYTHING—Chase That Golden Hour
Listen, kidz. Noon light is no one’s friend. Want that creamy, cinematic glow? Aim for golden hour—either just after sunrise or right before sunset. The light is softer, the shadows are flirtier, and your skin? Chef’s kiss.
Pro Tip: A little shimmer lotion never hurt anyone. The sun + shimmer = instant Greek god/goddess & all those in between.
2. Choose a Vibe, Then Build Around It
Don’t just show up in your swimwear and hope for magic. Are we going for a surfer chic? Deserted-island glam? Vintage Baywatch? High fashion lost-at-sea? Decide your mood before you hit the shore.
Guys: Linen shirts unbuttoned and blowing in the wind? Yes. Cargo shorts? Guysss… leave those at home.
Dolls: Flowy fabrics and swimsuits with strong lines? Absolutely. Over-accessorizing? Not at my beach.
3. Use the Environment Like a Pro
You’re not just on the beach, you’re part of it. Lean into that dune grass. Perch on a driftwood log. Walk along the shore with wet feet and sandy ankles—texture is everything.
Bonus Pro Tip: If your hair’s a mess from the salt? GOOD. Messy beach hair is its own brand of sexy. Don’t fight it. Werk it.
4. Angles and Energy, Baby!
Standing stiff in front of the ocean like a tourist? We don’t do that here.
MOVE. Run through the waves. Laugh into the wind. Sit with your legs sprawled in the sand like you’re too fabulous to care about laundry. Let the energy of the beach give you life—and let the camera catch it.
Remember: Confidence is the accessory that never goes out of style.
5. Bring Your Own Hype Crew (or Be Your Own)
Yes, a friend with a camera helps. But if it’s just you and your tripod? Channel your inner Beyoncé and shoot until you FEEL that shot hit.
Cue your playlist. Dance in between takes. You’re not just taking pictures, you’re creating art—and art doesn’t apologize.
6. Respect the Beach, Baby
Leave nothing but footprints. Don’t trash the place you’re using to look fabulous in. Pick up after yourself. Mother Nature gave you the world’s most gorgeous studio for free—the least you can do is love her back.
Wrap-Up: From Newbie to Nautical Icon
If you’re just starting out in modeling, the beach is your ultimate training ground. Light, texture, movement, energy—it’s all there. The only thing missing is your attitude (and okay, maybe a killer pose or two).
Now go out there, give the sea your best smolder, and remember: the camera might click, but YOU create the magic.
